The Division of Finance is responsible for the chartering, licensing, and oversight of financial institutions in the State of Missouri. This is an entry level position that offers growth and development through a structured career path with defined benchmarks and salary progression.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Responsibilities:
- Review the operation of state-chartered banks to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Conduct investigations for unsafe and unsound banking practices and assess the adequacy of internal controls.
- Determine the financial condition of a bank by evaluating and rating six primary areas: capital adequacy, asset quality, management, earnings, liquidity, and sensitivity to market risk.
- Conduct financial analysis of regulatory reports.
- Considerable overnight travel required.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Introductory knowledge of bank operations, general accounting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to effectively analyze complex operations of a financial institution and report findings.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other examiners, Division employees, and bank management.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and prepare concise written reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in business or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. A background or education in finance and/or accounting is beneficial, but not required.
