Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems within industrial and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, and electrical diagnostics, ensuring all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and local electrical codes. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage controls.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults within complex systems.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on industrial electrical equipment to prevent system failures.
- Install and wire programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes.
- Execute high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings to diagnose issues quickly and accurately.
- Assist with the reading of electrical blueprints and schematics for new installations or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for compliance audits and future reference.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.
Skills
- Extensive experience as an industrial electrician with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems.
- Proven background in commercial electrician work within construction or renovation environments.
- Deep knowledge of NFPA 70 standards, NEC regulations, and local electrical codes.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Experience working with high-voltage wiring safely on construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation systems.
- Ability to perform electrical wiring accurately in accordance with technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of low voltage systems used in commercial applications.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents during installation or maintenance tasks.
- Competence in using hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, screwdrivers) and power tools safely and effectively.
- Construction site experience including renovation projects requiring precise electrical work.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics fluently for efficient project execution.
- Handyman skills such as framing carpentry or general repairs are considered advantageous.
