OHI is seeking an experienced Leader to join us in our mission to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Lead DSP. The Lead DSP position is a steppingstone to upward mobility to the role of CSS. The primary responsibilities of the Lead DSP are to provide direct support to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the Lead DSP shall be responsible for completing quality assurance, programmatic and administrative tasks as outlined below.
Qualifications
- One year DSP experience
- Maine Driver's license and reliable transportation
- CPR/First aid certification
- PACT Certification
- CDS Certification
- CRMA Certification
Qualities
The Lead DSP must demonstrate flexibility; versatility; demonstrate positive, professional behavior; be an excellent communicator; have a can-do attitude; and demonstrate commitment to the OHI Philosophy, Mission and Vision. The Lead DSP must be a mentor and team player.
Responsibilities
The Lead DSP shall be responsible for the following duties.
- Ensure; medication ordering is completed
- Conduct safety and physical plant inspections monthly.
- Mentor new DSP's
- Ensure all new DSP's complete Individual specific and Home Specific training
- ensure fire drills are completed and documented
- Ensure Disaster drills are completed in compliance with the Disaster Policy
- Ensure incident reports and daily progress notes are completed by the end of each day.
- Ensure the coordination of medical appointments for people living in the home.
- Attend PCP meetings, as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
