About the Role
This posting is being used to recruit for multiple Branch Operations Supervisors opportunities within our retail branch network. While the posting uses our Rosemead location for recruiting purposes, the successful candidate may be assigned to our Rosemead, Monterey Park, or West Covina or branch based on business needs.
Universal Bank is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Branch Operations Supervisor to help lead the daily operations of one of our retail branches. This position is ideal for a banking professional who enjoys developing employees, delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring operational excellence, and building lasting customer relationships.
Working closely with the Branch Operations Manager, you will help oversee branch operations, coach and develop team members, support business development efforts, and ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies. This role also serves as the branch leader in the absence of the Branch Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in leading the daily operations of the branch to ensure outstanding customer service, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise daily teller operations, new account activities, and safe deposit operations.
- Review and authorize transactions within established authority levels while ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Monitor cash operations, balancing activities, operational reports, and branch controls to ensure accuracy and minimize risk.
- Assist with employee coaching, training, development, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Open and service consumer and business deposit accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Process domestic and international wire transfers in accordance with Bank procedures.
- Resolve complex customer service issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional banking products and services that meet their financial needs.
- Support business development activities by participating in community events and strengthening customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with Bank policies and applicable banking regulations, including BSA/AML, OFAC, CIP/KYC, CTR, and related regulatory requirements.
- Provide operational support to other branch locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of retail banking experience with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Experience with teller operations, new accounts, customer service, and branch operations.
- Working knowledge of retail banking products, services, and operational procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Community banking experience.
- Experience supervising branch staff and supporting employee development.
- Experience with consumer and business account opening, wire processing, and branch operational controls.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred to support effective communication with a diverse customer base and enhance the delivery of exceptional customer service. Candidates without Mandarin language skills are encouraged to apply if they meet the required qualifications.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to work in a retail banking environment. Employees are frequently required to stand, walk, communicate with customers and team members, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
