Job Summary
We are looking for candidates Data Center Technician who can install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured fiber and copper cabling systems in various environments. Minimum 1 year of experience in fiber optic cabling is needed. Experience in fiber ad copper cable preparation, termination, splicing, testing (OTDR) and troubleshooting is required. Experience in rack mount servers, routers is required. Experience in data center environment is preferred.
Must have:
Minimum 2-year Associate degree is required.
Candidate should have necessary hand-tools for cabling, android phone, basic laptop and vehicle of their own.
Responsibilities:
· This role involves physical installation of fiber cables, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting, often within a data center environment.
· Installing servers, racks, and other related hardware components cabling (fiber& copper), connecting.
· Identifying and resolving issues with servers, network equipment, and other data center infrastructure.
· Terminating fiber and copper cables with connectors correctly, ensuring proper signal integrity.
· Label cables, port numbers, etc. based on network data sheet
· Work with data center engineers and follow their directions at site
· Complete a close-out package (COP) by providing work detail notes, picture, survey checklist, etc.
· Ensure installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, cabling, and other infrastructure components.
- Attend on-call support (24X7) to resolve alarms and trouble tickets and complete emergency repairs as needed (break-fix).
- Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
- Update the status to managers and the stakeholders as needed with the working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
