We have an immediate opening for an experienced Lead Fixture Builder with a tooling company. Must have aerospace experience and be able to operate a manual bridgeport. This leadership role involves coordinating the fixture build process, ensuring precision and quality standards are met, and guiding a team of technicians and assemblers. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience reading schematics and blueprints. As Fixture Build Leader, you will play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency, safety, and adherence to technical specifications, supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality products.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the fixture build team to ensure timely completion of assembly projects while maintaining high quality standards.
- Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to facilitate accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions during assembly.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and machining devices to fabricate fixtures according to specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement instruments to ensure fixtures meet design tolerances.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel for material handling, inventory management, and forklift operation as needed.
- Support fabrication processes including welding, soldering, machining, and fabrication of metal or composite components.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols related to tool use, welding procedures, and equipment operation.
- Document build processes, update schematics or drawings when necessary, and communicate progress with management.
- Assist in training team members on proper assembly techniques, tool usage, and safety procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or assembly environments with a focus on fixture building or related mechanical fabrication.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
- Experience operating precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation is preferred.
- Knowledge of soldering techniques and fabrication processes is advantageous.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
