The Split-Shift Test Technician will be responsible for ensuring that product meets customer and internal requirements, will be responsible for documenting results of test and inspection activities, and will be responsible for communicating findings proactively and in a timely manner. The split-shift hours of operation are Monday – Friday (10:00 AM to 6:30 PM)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical and Physical Testing of strategic piezoelectric elements including:
- Test ceramic rings
- Pole crystal plates
- Test crystal plates
o Package piezoelectric components for shipment
o Coordinate with Test Room Supervisor for priorities
- Help complete daily shipments
- Inspect products through the use of visual observation, dimensional measurement, and special test processes at various stages of product manufacture and at final assembly.
- Report any equipment or facility defect(s) to supervisor.
- Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
- Always wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area.
- Ability to perform additional tasks as required by management
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- Education: A high school diploma is required and an associate degree in engineering technology or related technical field is a plus.
- A working knowledge of standard inspection techniques and practices.
- Use of calipers, micrometers, and inspection microscopes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills
- Person should be proactive and driven to continually assist in the improvement of our quality system.
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience in manufacturing and machining of ceramic or metal materials a plus
- Experience machining and inspecting tight tolerance complex geometries to the part drawings is a plus
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Basic English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehend)
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and QC personnel
- Basic to intermediate shop math
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use and read measuring tool and devices as necessary for inspection of machined parts.
- Mechanical ability and understanding of engineering principles
- Ability to read technical blueprint/technical drawings
- Understanding of part tolerances.
- Able to work in a demanding fast paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to practice teamwork and be safety oriented in a factory environment.
- Work with little or no supervision throughout shift.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS /Work Environment
This job will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment.
Physical – Must be able to manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
