Description:
We are seeking an experienced Property & Casualty (P&C) Litigation Manager to oversee our Third-Party Administrator (TPA). You will manage outside defense counsel, drive litigation strategies, and ensure TPAs adhere to strict claim-handling guidelines. Your main goal is to mitigate financial risk and optimize legal spend across commercial and personal lines.
Key Responsibilities:
TPA Oversight & Governance
- Monitor TPA compliance with corporate guidelines.
- Conduct regular file reviews and consult with TPA claims staff for reserve accuracy.
- Evaluate TPA performance using key metrics.
- Authorize settlement values above TPA authority levels.
Litigation Management
- Direct defense strategies for complex P&C claims.
- Review and approve budgets for outside counsel.
- Evaluate liability, causation, and damages exposure.
- Attend high-exposure mediations and trials virtually or in-person.
Operational Strategy
- Analyze litigation trends to reduce legal spend.
- Develop best practices for TPA data reporting.
- Collaborate with internal risk management and underwriting teams.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 7+ years of P&C claims litigation experience.
- 3+ years of direct TPA management experience.
- Deep knowledge of Property lines and Contractors’ Liability.
Education & Credentials
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor's degree with equivalent insurance experience.
- Adjuster licenses in required states preferred.
- Professional designations (CPCU, CLMP, CRIS) are a plus.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Mastery of litigation management software.
- Excellent clear communication style.
- Analytical mindset for legal spend metrics.
Salary Dependent Upon Experience

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
