Our client, a surplus materials and supply distribution company, is looking for a CDL Driver to join their team in Bakersfield, CA. In this role, you will safely transport materials to customer locations while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards, providing excellent customer service on every delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport materials to customer locations
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies at all times
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Load, unload, and secure cargo verifying proper weight distribution prior to departure
- Plan efficient delivery routes and meet scheduled delivery times consistently
- Maintain accurate driver logs and all required transportation documentation
- Obtain delivery signatures and collect payments when required
- Report vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide outstanding customer service
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Clean driving record required
- Minimum one year of commercial driving experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements
- Forklift experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and safely
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and 75 lbs occasionally
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching as needed
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday | Weekends as needed
