Seeking an experienced Histology Technician or Technologist to join us at Lauderdale Pathology. We are a fast-paced, patient-conscious pathology laboratory located in sunny Pompano Beach, Florida. The hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. We offer medical benefits and a 401(k) with employer match up to 6% after one year.
Job Duties:
- Embedding, cutting, and performing routine and special stains according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Receiving, labeling and safely storing samples to be tested
- Labeling and organizing all tests appropriately to make sure that they are easily retrievable
- Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety procedures and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of the sample
- Performing routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure
- Performing and documenting instrument function by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documenting data
- Following appropriate safety policies including the appropriate use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling
- Demonstrating understanding of and adhering to Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies
- Performing other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Histotechnician/Histotechnologist certification required
- Current Florida license required
- Ability to follow biohazard guidelines and laboratory procedures
- Understanding of electronic and computerized equipment in laboratory
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
