We are a growing rental car startup based in Stone Mountain, GA, providing reliable and affordable rental vehicles to the local community. We're focused on building a strong, honest operation that rewards hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.
We're now seeking a Fleet Operations Assistant who can help us maintain our vehicles and deliver excellent service as we expand.
This is a flexible, independent contractor position ideal for someone mechanically inclined who is organized, values autonomy, wants part-time work, and is looking to grow with the business.
Duties
- Vehicle Prep: Clean vehicles inside and out, check and inflate tires, top off fluids, check tire pressures, and perform general readiness inspections.
- Cosmetic Repairs: Replace wiper blades, light bulbs, and complete other light cosmetic maintenance tasks for commission pay.
- Maintenance Support: Order parts, schedule service appointments, and transport vehicles for servicing as needed.
- Fleet Compliance: Monitor rental returns for mileage, fuel levels, and vehicle damage.
- Customer Coordination: Serve as a point of contact for renter issues, vehicle swaps, pickups, and returns.
- Mobile Technology: Use mobile apps for fleet tracking, maintenance logs, and renter communication.
- Problem-Solving: Help resolve renter issues and coordinate vehicle repairs efficiently & professionally.
Experience
- Consistent Work Experience Preferred
- Strong communication & Problem Solving skills are essential
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable performing basic cosmetic vehicle repairs
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills will be beneficial in this role.
Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Highly Valued):
- Prior experience with basic vehicle repairs or fleet operations
- Light mechanical diagnostic skills
- Startup or small business experience
- Interest in rental car business operations and investment opportunities
Ideal Candidate Must-Haves:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Insurable driving record (must be clean)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable personal transportation
- Ability to operate a smartphone and mobile apps
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable performing basic cosmetic vehicle repairs
- Willingness to work on-call during business hours (primarily mornings to early evenings)
- Reliable, honest, accountable, and professional
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with minimal supervision
