Summary
CAD Drafter is responsible for creating drawings, and other technical information for use in manufacturing, construction, and fabrication. The position reports to: Lead Designer/Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project scope based on architectural or interior design drawings.
- Create preliminary design following leads.
- Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations.
- Estimate material and production costs for designs.
- Create technical drawings for production and manufacturing.
Requirements
- College or university degree in drafting, interior design, architecture, or other related disciplines.
- Proficiency in CAD software, SketchUp and Excel.
- Strong understanding of drafting techniques and principles.
- Experience with schematic design is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Experience managing several projects at a time.
