JOB TITLE: Breeder/Pullet Manager DATE: 7/2026
REPORTS TO: Assistant Live Operations Manager STATUS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for directing and coordinating Breeder/Pullet operations to ensure quality hatching eggs come to the hatchery. Coordinates and manages the department to ensure deadlines and goals for production are met and are on time.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for hiring, supervising, training and coaching direct reports to maximize employee engagement and achieve expected outcomes.
2. Direct the day-to-day operations of the Breeder/Pullet department in respect to management of the contractors who will be vaccinating, catching and hauling the live pullets, hens and cockerals.
3. Train, coach and teach all subordinates and contractors in performing their jobs to reach common goals.
4. Monitor costs of all programs for efficiency and effectiveness in meeting performance factors.
5. Direct all personnel within each department to give optimal performance.
6. Communicate daily with LPP Management on any issues that may arise within the departments.
7. Monitor adherence to established LPP programs by employees and contractors for any and all issues regarding the Biosecurity, vaccinating, catching, hauling and animal welfare as well as any other programs that may be implemented.
8. Maintain safety standards and adherence to all safety programs.
9. Maintain an excellent relationship with all the LPP team to include contract growers.
10. Manage any equipment repair issues that may occur from damages related to the catching process.
11. Be involved with scheduling to meet the needs of the departments.
12. Be willing to work and manage the activities of the department in any and all types of weather extremes such as snow, ice, flooding, heat and etc.
13. Be flexible to work long hours and or holidays if the need were to arise.
14. Be a valued member of a team that will provide excellent service. Be willing to perform any reasonable task that management asks of the employee.
15. Coordinate all mandatory safety/OSHA training and compliance with the Safety and Training and Development Departments. Ensure the team is also compliant with all required training
16. Assist with all implementation of new technology and program implementation
17. Be willing to perform any reasonable task assigned by LPP
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
1. MUST have a strong background and experience in animal welfare and biosecurity
2. MUST possess leadership skills and the ability to establish performance expectations
3. MUST have experience in analyzing reports, creating, maintaining, and achieving KPI goals
4. MUST have the ability/experience to coordinate and coach all programs pertaining to ventilation, lighting, watering, nesting and environment management
5. MUST be proficient in budget creation and management
6. Basic computer skills – Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Prophix and D365 a plus
7. MUST have knowledge of Vaccination inventory programs and assisting with choosing the programs in conjunction with the complex veterinarian
8. Skill in managing multiple priorities and delegating as needed.
9. Experience in managing people and logistics.
10. Ability to build relationships and motivate teams.
11. Ability to work flexible hours.
12. MUST demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions and hold yourself and your team accountable for the results
13. MUST possess a valid license to be able to drive a company vehicle to and from contract farms and operations.
14. Ability to work inside/outside and in all types of weather conditions
15. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum AA Degree. BS/BA Poultry Science is Preferred. Any Agriculture Science related major will be considered. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Ability to demonstrate a solid knowledge base of broiler/breeder management, flock health, nutrition, and other production systems preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of servicing pullets/breeders or broilers with supervising and managerial experience.
This job requires that you cannot own or have any contact with animals with feathers, other than those owned by Lincoln Premium Poultry, during your employment with LPP.
