The Communication & Engagement Coordinator leads Vanderburgh County CASA's external communications strategy to increase community awareness, strengthen volunteer recruitment and retention, and inspire community members to advocate for abused and neglected children. This position reports to and works closely with the Director of Development and Engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:
Communications & Marketing
· Serve as the organization's primary communications and marketing lead.
· Develop and execute an annual communications and marketing plan aligned with organizational goals.
· Create compelling written and visual content highlighting the impact of CASA volunteers.
· Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication platforms.
· Draft press releases, newsletters, promotional materials, and community announcements.
· Track marketing performance and recommend improvements based on engagement and recruitment metrics.
Website Management
· Ownership of the Vanderburgh County CASA website through WordPress.
· Update website content regularly to ensure information is current, accurate, and engaging.
· Improve website usability and volunteer recruitment pathways.
· Coordinate new pages, forms, images, videos, and other website enhancements.
Social Media Management
· Manage all organizational social media platforms.
· Maintain a strategic content calendar.
· Create graphics, photos, videos, and stories that increase community engagement.
· Respond appropriately and timely to public messages and comments.
· Monitor analytics and adjust strategies to maximize reach and volunteer recruitment.
Video Production
· Plan, film, edit, and publish short-form and long-form video content.
· Produce volunteer testimonials, child advocacy stories (while maintaining confidentiality), event recaps, educational content, and recruitment campaigns.
· Create videos optimized for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms.
Volunteer Recruitment & Community Outreach
· Serve as the first point of contact for volunteer inquiries.
· Respond promptly to volunteer inquiries by phone, email, website submissions, and social media.
· Build relationships with prospective volunteers and guide them through the recruitment process.
· Coordinate and schedule community presentations focused on volunteer recruitment.
· Develop partnerships with civic organizations, businesses, faith communities, colleges, and other community groups.
· Represent Vanderburgh County CASA at community events, volunteer fairs, and networking opportunities.
Speaking Engagement Coordination
· Proactively secure speaking engagements throughout Vanderburgh County.
· Maintain an annual calendar of presentations and outreach opportunities.
· Prepare presentation materials and coordinate logistics.
· Support staff and volunteers serving as community speakers when appropriate.
Mission Immersion:
To fully understand the program and strengthen community credibility, this position will complete our 30-hour new volunteer training within the first 6 months of hire and advocate for one family as the assigned volunteer. This is an initial-hire requirement, and serving as an advocate becomes optional after completing one case.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field preferred.
- Experience managing social media for an organization or business.
- Experience using WordPress.
- Experience creating and editing video content.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common design platforms (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).
Success in this role will include:
