Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support our Operations/Finance team. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, helping us maintain strong relationships with vendors and support our mission of building and preserving affordable housing in the communities we serve.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process invoices, check requests, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
Review, code, and enter vendor invoices in accordance with internal policies and procedures
Perform monthly reconciliations, including vendor statements and credit card accounts
Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with organizational and audit requirements
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Support audits by preparing documentation and reports as needed
Assist with other accounting and finance functions as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma required, associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred
2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience with Sage 100 or 300, Timberline or Yardi preferred
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
