Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Lead Server/Trainer to join our dynamic hospitality team. Duties
- Lead and motivate a team of servers, ensuring high standards of service and guest engagement at all times
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions on POS
- Oversee service procedures to maintain quality and safety standards in accordance with food industry regulations
- Manage reservations, coordinate seating arrangements, and optimize table turnover for maximum efficiency
- Implement upselling strategies to increase sales while providing personalized recommendations to guests
- Ensure all team members adhere to food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
- Assist with cash handling, cashiering duties, and nightly closing procedures with accuracy and integrity
Experience
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant operations, preferably in fine dining or upscale establishments
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience training or supervising staff as a lead server or trainer
- Extensive knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong background in culinary arts or kitchen experience is highly desirable
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy service hours
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to sanitation, food safety, serving protocols, and alcohol regulations
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and billing purposes
