Position Overview:
tec5USA is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Technician to support its growing contract manufacturing and OEM product line. Reporting to the Head of Production, this individual will play a critical role in quality inspection, functional testing, documentation, and calibration to ensure that all products meet internal and customer specifications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform incoming inspection of materials, in-process components, and finished goods according to quality standards
- Conduct functional testing and quality analysis using specialized equipment and test setups for optics, electronics, and mechanical assemblies
- Execute and document dimensional measurements, electrical performance tests, and visual inspections
- Document and report findings, including any deviations from quality standards; support root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions
- Identify and log non-conforming materials or parts; support non-conformance resolution processes
- Maintain calibration logs and ensure timely calibration of all test and measurement equipment
- Assemble, handle, and test sensitive components, including optical and electronic parts, with precision and care
- Read and follow test procedures and protocols for OEM and custom-manufactured devices
- Communicate effectively with the production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Support and follow established ISO 9001 procedures; contribute to compliance with ISO 13485 (medical device) as applicable
- Maintain a clean and organized test bench and lab work area
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for small-scale component handling
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, test instructions, and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with soldering tools, hand tools, and test instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration mindset
- Comfort with data entry and record-keeping using Microsoft Excel and other basic software tools
- Working knowledge of optical, electronic, and mechanical components preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Education and Experience:
- Technical school degree or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a production, assembly, or testing environment
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or quality control is a strong plus
- Experience working in an ISO-certified production environment is preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Annual bonus potential based on KPIs and individual performance
