Position Overview
Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist to join its Radiation Oncology team in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist is responsible for developing radiation treatment plans, performing dose calculations, coordinating simulations, and supporting the safe and effective delivery of prescribed radiation treatments. This position works closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan radiation treatment techniques to deliver prescribed radiation doses.
- Obtain or supervise the collection of patient contours, localization files, CT scans, and port films.
- Coordinate simulations with tumor localization procedures.
- Enter and verify dosage calculations in patient radiation therapy charts.
- Supervise therapists in implementing approved treatment plans.
- Complete or assist with planning and building beam-modifying devices.
- Obtain localization films for intracavitary procedures.
- Calculate isodose distributions and assist with brachytherapy procedures.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of radioactive sources.
- Conduct radiation room surveys for patients undergoing intracavitary or interstitial procedures.
- Provide technical assistance to the Radiation Physicist.
- Maintain accurate treatment planning and radiation therapy documentation.
- Follow applicable radiation safety and patient care standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of dosimetry experience under the supervision of a dosimetrist, medical physicist, radiation oncologist, or equivalent experience.
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential through the American Association of Medical Dosimetry.
- Current and active professional credentials.
- Strong knowledge of radiation treatment planning and dosimetry principles.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $143,520–$200,000
Compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and other applicable factors.

Relocation Requirement
Candidates must relocate to Grand Junction, Colorado 81505 before beginning employment.
