Fitness Center seeking qualified Fitness Attendant to monitor and clean locker rooms and various other areas of the center. The Fitness Attendant is responsible for providing customer service and supervision of the Wellness Center members, as defined by policy and procedure guidelines with enthusiasm professionalism and efficiency at our Salinas, CA location.
The following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Provides oversight of members in the fitness area (floor circulation) assuring that members are performing their exercise routines in a safe and effective manner.
- Serves as a resource to members for fitness and other club related questions.
- Performs equipment cleaning and basic maintenance under the direction of the Fitness Director.
- Communicates any cleaning needs that cannot be addressed during the shift to the supervisor or general manager.
- Maintains a clean environment for members including all areas of the club – fitness floor, group exercise rooms, locker rooms, pools, etc.
- Cleans all sinks, counters, vanities, mirrors, and air vents in the rest rooms and locker rooms.
- Provides a high level of customer relations behaviors and service toward members, staff and the public.
- Performs member equipment orientations.
- Physically demonstrates correct form and usage of all exercise equipment, weight equipment and cardiovascular equipment.
- Reports equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Takes member blood pressure readings as requested.
Education/Training
Health or fitness related degree course program and 8-10 credit hours of coursework in a health/fitness related degree program with 1-2 years of progressive experience in customer service and basic exercise skills either through a formal training course or adequate on the job training; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
