Do you believe that movement is essential to a child's growth and learning? Are you passionate about creating fun, active experiences that help students develop confidence, coordination, and a lifelong appreciation for healthy living?
Peachtree Academy is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Part-Time Elementary Physical Education Teacher to work with our Pre-K through 5th grade students two days each week. This role is ideal for an educator who understands that physical education extends far beyond sports—it is an opportunity to strengthen students physically, socially, emotionally, and academically.
The ideal candidate will design engaging, age-appropriate lessons that encourage students to stay active while developing teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and good sportsmanship. We value educators who incorporate brain-based movement strategies, including cross-lateral (cross-body) exercises that enhance coordination, improve focus, stimulate both hemispheres of the brain, and support classroom learning.
Successful candidates are creative, positive, and committed to making fitness enjoyable through a variety of activities such as games, obstacle courses, music, movement challenges, cooperative learning, and skill-building exercises. Strong classroom management, effective communication, and a genuine love for working with children are essential.
Responsibilities include:
-
Plan and teach engaging physical education lessons for students in Pre-K through 5th grade.
-
Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
-
Integrate brain-based movement activities that promote focus, coordination, and academic readiness.
-
Teach and model teamwork, leadership, perseverance, respect, and sportsmanship.
-
Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and abilities of all learners.
-
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
-
Promote healthy habits and a positive attitude toward lifelong physical activity.
Qualifications:
-
Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children.
-
Passion for health, fitness, and child development.
-
Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
-
High-energy, positive, and creative teaching style.
-
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying ages and skill levels.
-
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Christ-centered school environment.
At Peachtree Academy, we believe that active bodies create active minds. We are looking for someone who will inspire students to move with purpose, build healthy habits, grow in confidence, and discover the joy of physical activity while supporting their academic and personal success.
If you're ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners, we'd love to welcome you to our Panther family!
