We are seeking a Safety Ambassador Lead to support a groundbreaking autonomous delivery program in Austin, TX. In this role, you will provide hands-on leadership for a team of Safety Ambassadors responsible for supporting next-generation robotic delivery operations.This is a player-coach position where you'll actively participate in field operations while leading daily deployments, coaching team members, ensuring safety compliance, and serving as the primary escalation point for operational incidents.If you thrive in structured environments, enjoy working outdoors, have experience leading teams, and want to be part of cutting-edge robotics technology, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Do
- Lead and support Safety Ambassadors during daily field operations
- Coordinate staffing, route assignments, and deployment activities
- Serve as the primary escalation point for safety incidents and operational disruptions
- Reinforce compliance with safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct field observations and provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Support onboarding, training, and certification of new team members
- Verify readiness of vehicles, robotics equipment, batteries, controllers, and mobile devices
- Track operational performance metrics and complete related documentation
- Partner with operations and technical teams to improve processes and workflows
- Communicate field updates, risks, equipment issues, and resource needs to leadership
- Support safe interactions between robotic delivery systems and the public
- Assist with candidate evaluations and field readiness assessments
Required Qualifications
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Experience in field operations, logistics, transportation, fleet, safety, military, or related environments
- Strong communication and coaching abilities
- Ability to follow and enforce structured operational procedures
- Experience responding to incidents and escalating issues appropriately
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and data-entry applications
- Strong decision-making and situational awareness skills
- Ability to work independently while leading a distributed field team
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to pass background verification requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Military or veteran experience
- Autonomous vehicle, robotics, or advanced mobility experience
- Fleet operations or transportation supervision experience
- Mechanical, electrical, avionics, or technician background
- Experience supporting safety-sensitive operations
- Experience with last-mile delivery or logistics operations
- Project coordination or operations management experience
Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor field work in varying weather conditions
- Active role involving walking, standing, escorting robotic systems, and loading equipment
- Regular interaction with autonomous delivery technology
- Frequent use of mobile devices, handheld controllers, and operational reporting tools
- Fast-paced, safety-focused environment with evolving technology and procedures
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
