Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and efficiency
- Follow safety standards in food production, handling, and storage to prevent contamination
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Support food service operations by plating dishes promptly and accurately for service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related food industry role, preferably in a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Experience with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining safety standards in production environments
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and serving personnel
