Position: Fabricator
Job Purpose:
The Fabricator will be responsible for constructing and assembling metal and composite structures, components or products according to specifications, using various welding techniques and fabrication equipment. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, precision and attention to detail to ensure all products meet quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret, engineering drawings and schematics to determine fabrication requirements.
- Measure, cut, bend, shape and weld metal sheets, tubes, plates and steel sections to create structures, components or products.
- Select and operate welding equipment such as, MIG for fabrication.
- Fabricate metal structures using cutting, drilling, grinding, sawing and shearing equipment and hand tools.
- Assemble fabricated metal parts using bolts, rivets, clips or other fasteners, and ensure all components fit together as per the design.
- Perform quality checks on all products and ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Clean, maintain and repair fabrication equipment to ensure it is in good working condition at all times.
- Collaborate with project Coordinator and Supervisor to identify product design requirements and develop fabrication solutions that meet client needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in welding, fabrication or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or welding operations.
- Advanced knowledge of fabrication techniques and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Ability to operate fabrication equipment such as welding machines, drills, grinders and saws.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Physical Requirements:
- Bending and stooping
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods of time
