Under the general direction of the Director of Campus Recreation, the Assistant Director of Intramurals, Sport Clubs, and Camps provide leadership, administration, and strategic oversight for the Intramural Sports Program, Sport Club Program, and Summer Camp Program. As a member of the Campus Recreation leadership team, this position is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, promotion and assessment of comprehensive recreational sports opportunities that support student engagement and development.
Primary responsibilities include the administration of the Intramural Sports Program, including scheduling, staffing, supervision, and evaluation of all leagues, tournaments, and special events. The Assistant Director also oversees the Sport Club Program through the supervision, development, and support of student-led clubs. In addition, the position serves as Director of the Summer Camp Program, providing oversight of program promotion, registration, participant communications, staff recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation to ensure a safe and high-quality camp experience.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
This position requires flexibility to work beyond standard business hours. The typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m., the role regularly includes evening and late-night programming, occasional weekend events, and limited travel with student groups to support student engagement and campus life.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with knowledge of University Emergency Medical Procedures, program planning, and athletic officiating rules. A commitment to student success, well-being, and relationship-centered programming is essential. Good driving record. Successful background check is required.
