Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and review detailed financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements
- Conduct audits and internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations and other industry standards
- Manage tax compliance processes, including individual tax, corporate tax, tax reporting, and tax law adherence
- Assist with estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law considerations, ensuring proper documentation and legal compliance
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records
- Support financial sales initiatives by providing detailed financial analysis and insights for client proposals
- Utilize accounting software such as Quicken and other financial tools for efficient data management and reporting
- Interpret financial reports and provide clear analysis to stakeholders on financial health and strategic opportunities
- Contribute to regulatory reporting requirements related to securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), private equity, and investment activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mergers & acquisitions, financial planning, and technical accounting projects
Experience
- Proven experience as a CPA with a strong background in public accounting or corporate accounting environments
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting standards
- Demonstrated expertise in tax law, tax experience including tax return preparation, tax reporting, and tax compliance strategies
- Strong understanding of securities law, LIHTC programs, private equity transactions, and investment analysis
- Experience with auditing procedures, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software tools is preferred
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to clients or stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in high-pressure environments
- Strong client communication skills with a focus on delivering clear guidance on regulatory requirements and financial strategies
