Overview

Duties
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks and Jobber, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to uphold financial integrity
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable governmental accounting standards
- Handle payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP and Gusto including payroll processing and tax compliance
- Support HR functions such as data entry for employee records, benefits administration, onboarding, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with compliance audits related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal policies
- Conduct Excel data analysis for budgeting, expense tracking, and financial forecasting to inform strategic decision-making
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting and finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices and public accounting environments
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems; experience with Workday or Ceridian is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Understanding of GAAP standards, governmental accounting procedures, and technical accounting concepts
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management
- Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and math calculations accurately
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions within HR functions and finance teams
