Located in Cody, Wyoming. Not a remote position. The QC Chemist performs analyses to support manufacturing and help ensure products meet company standards and specifications. The QC Chemist also ensures that all laboratory safety policies and procedures are followed. Working directly with the Laboratory Manager, the QC Chemist ensures results are processed and communicated in a timely manner to support on time delivery in manufacturing and performs other duties as assigned.
Reporting Structure: The QC Chemist reports to the Laboratory Manager or, in the Laboratory Manager's absence, to the Director of Quality.
Responsibilities:
- Receive samples into the laboratory.
- Conduct routine laboratory analyses of polymer raw materials, in-process cleanout samples, R&D samples, stability samples, and final-product insecticide tags.
- Assist with R&D and field studies, including analysis and data collection.
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) and atypical results.
- Interpret analytical results and communicate them in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Write and revise laboratory SOPs and forms, as necessary.
- Perform weekly laboratory checks in accordance with SOPs.
- Clean and maintain the work area and all laboratory equipment.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), spectrophotometers, thermogravimetric analyzers (TGA), and differential scanning calorimeters (DSC).
- Follow all safety protocols, the Chemical Hygiene Plan, and applicable Safety Data Sheets.
- Remain current on all training.
- Assist with new product development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College coursework is preferred but not required.
- Technical proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft applications.
- Ability to analyze data.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Prior knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a certificate in Good Laboratory Practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Willingness and ability to participate in a biological monitoring safety program that includes optional blood draws.
- Willingness and ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to a lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, a hard hat, and a full-face respirator.
