Job Summary
Motherlode Co-Packing is looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager to lead daily
quality and food safety execution in our food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading the
QA team, supporting production, investigating complaints and deviations, improving training, and making
sure quality checks and food safety requirements are completed correctly and on time.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys being on the floor, coaching people, solving problems, and
building simple systems that actually get followed. You will report to the Director of Quality & Food Safety
and work closely with our Regulatory Compliance Supervisor, Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance,
Warehouse, and Product Development teams.
Responsibilities
· Lead day-to-day QA and food safety execution on the production floor.
· Supervise and coach QA Supervisors, FSQA Leads, and QA Technicians.
· Make sure quality checks, pre-op inspections, line checks, finished product checks, and records
are completed accurately and on time.
· Lead customer complaint investigations, process deviation investigations, root cause analysis,
and CAPA follow-up.
· Manage product holds, retain reviews, testing coordination, and quality documentation related to
investigations.
· Support programs for GMPs, allergens, sanitation verification, pest control, chemical control,
calibration, glass and brittle plastic, environmental monitoring, and food safety checks.
· Partner with Production and Maintenance to correct quality issues quickly and prevent repeat
problems.
· Support SQF, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits under the direction of the Director of
QA/FS.
· Build practical training routines for QA and production employees around GMPs, food safety,
customer requirements, and quality standards.
· Track key quality metrics and help drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of food manufacturing quality assurance or food safety experience required; 5+ years
preferred.
· 1+ year of lead, supervisor, or manager experience required; 2+ years preferred.
· Working knowledge of GMPs, FDA requirements, HACCP or Preventive Controls, allergens,
sanitation, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
· Strong leadership, organization, follow-through, and communication skills.
· Comfortable working directly on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.
· PCQI, HACCP, SQF, co-packing, sauce, acidified-food, beverage, or liquid-product experience is
strongly preferred.
Work Environment
· On-site food manufacturing environment in Hudson, Colorado.
· Must be able to stand, walk, wear PPE, and work around food processing equipment, wet areas,
temperature changes, and food allergens.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
