Position Overview
A superintendent manages and oversees the day-to-day field operations required to complete commercial construction projects from start to finish. Their duties include client relations, building and managing schedules, quality control, safety, and communication with the project team. Must be open to travel.
Essential Functions
- Build, develop, maintain, and exceed customer expectations and relationships
- Review and understand complete project scope, documents, plans, and specifications
- Review and understand owner expectations with project team
- Create, manage, update, and share construction schedule with project team
- Update and send 3-week look-ahead schedules on a weekly basis to project team
- Initiate, conduct, and document weekly job-site meetings with subcontractors and suppliers
- Inspect and maintain quality workmanship per industry standard and contract documents
- Ensure the project is built per the contract, plans, specifications, and scope of work
- Communicate daily with project manager to discuss schedule, action items, RFI’s and cost issues
- Review and approve all submittals and shop drawings
- Supervise and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site
- Prepare daily reports on Procore to include all activities, workers, inspections, photos, weather, etc
- Manage and always supervise overall site safety – maintain a safe work environment
- Build and maintain a positive relationship and work environment with project team
- Understand and manage specific budgets with project manager such as winter conditions
- Complete project on or ahead of schedule – 100% complete at owner occupancy
- Attend and participate in all owner progress meetings
- Create, manage, and complete project punch list within 2 weeks of final walkthrough
- Review quality control daily – goal being a zero-item punch list
- Manage all warranty items for 1st year after project completion
- Obtain OSHA 10
