Field Production Foreman - Tree Care
Tri-State Tree Service is seeking an experienced Field Production Foreman to lead 4-5 tree care crews in daily field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met.
JOB OVERVIEW
Lead multiple tree care crews in daily field operations. This hands-on leadership position works directly with crews, not office administration. Train Crew Leaders, step in as acting Crew Leader when needed, and manage training crews. Weekly bonuses based on crew production and safety compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of 4-5 assigned crews across multiple job sites
- Work directly in field with crews ensuring quality and safety standards
- Step in as acting Crew Leader when regular leaders unavailable
- Monitor crew performance and provide real-time guidance
- Ensure all work meets ANSI standards and company specifications
Training & Development
- Work with company trainer to identify skill deficiencies and develop improvement plans
- Train and mentor Crew Leaders in technical skills, safety, and leadership
- Conduct hands-on training in pruning, rigging, and equipment operation
- Lead specialized training crews with reduced production focus
- Provide ongoing coaching to improve team performance
Safety & Production Management
- Enforce ANSI/OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct field safety inspections and enforce protocols
- Ensure proper PPE usage and equipment compliance
- Drive crew productivity to meet production targets
- Monitor job site efficiency and implement improvements
Quality Assurance
- Ensure services meet client expectations and industry standards
- Conduct quality inspections and address deficiencies
- Handle customer concerns and ensure professional appearance
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 5+ years tree care experience with strong climbing and technical skills
- 2+ years crew leadership/supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of pruning, removal, rigging, and safety
- Valid driver's license with clean record
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to train and develop crew members
- Experience with all tree care aspects: climbing, bucket truck, ground work
- Problem-solving skills for field challenges
- Ability to maintain safety under production pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform all tree care duties including climbing
- Work in various weather conditions, lift 30-40+ pounds
- Stamina for full days of physical outdoor work
Preferred
- ISA Certified Arborist certification
- Crane operation experience

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Base Salary: Competitive based on experience
Weekly Bonuses: Based on crew production and safety scores

Schedule: M-F with occasional weekend work
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Field-based position across multiple job sites daily. Outdoor work in all weather with extensive travel between locations. Hands-on leadership focused on field operations.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
