POSITION OVERVIEW:
Electro Mechanical Technician performs preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, electrical and mechanical.
Installs, maintains, and repairs electromechanical system, machinery, electro control, PLC programming, servo drive, and related components, and other electrical control functions in the plant.
Fully analyzes required blueprints, drawings, work orders, maintenance procedures, OEM instructions, and sketches to facilitate the assembly/maintenance of machinery, and installation of desired parts. Able to detect errors and correct them through proper channels. Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical circuitry used in manufacturing, material handling, building facilities, air compressors, and chillers. Provide general and/or technical assistance to the Blow Molding Technicians.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning system, apparatus, and components, using equipment and tools to locate the root cause and provide countermeasure.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment and replacement.
- Understand and able to modify parameters in PLC and VFD
- Ensure all works performed follow code.
- Able to use a variety of tools and gauges to repair and diagnose production machinery.
- Troubleshoot all electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment, building facilities in accordance with government local electrical requirements, OSHA and NFPA 79
- Perform preventive maintenance service of production equipment during scheduled machine services.
- Leads, coordinates the Technicians work assignments, and any documentation requirements, downtime reporting in Guidewheel with the Plant Site Leader and the Operations Lead.
- Researches alternative suppliers, methods of technology to perform maintenance work with combination of cost and quality.
- Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies required for projects.
- Confers with senior technical management to resolve maintenance issues and recommend measures to improve conditions of machines and equipment.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records and prepare reports for management review.
- Assists in developing preventive maintenance program in conjunction with internal or external maintenance staff to ensure optimum equipment uptime.
- Participates with Site Manager in discussing and reviewing capital expenditure needs and recommends plans to leadership in planning future expenditures.
Weekend and evening work required.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
Technical or Vocational degree/certificate and 10+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum, hydraulic theory and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component level. Knowledge of OSHA 70E NFPA standards
Basic to advanced troubleshooting of mechanical operated machinery.
Capable of diagnosing and modifying current PLC logic for production equipment.
