Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Asset Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of housing assets across affordable, market-rate, and senior living communities. This individual will serve as the primary steward of asset performance, partnering closely with development, property management, accounting, and capital markets to maximize value creation throughout the investment lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical capabilities with strategic thinking, relationship management skills, and a hands-on approach. This role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to influence investment decisions, business plans, and portfolio strategy within a growing real estate platform.
This position is primarily in‑office (4 days per week), with one remote workday per week permitted in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of multiple property assets, ensuring they meet financial and operational goals
- Develop and implement strategic plans for asset improvement and value enhancement
- Coordinate leasing activities including property leasing, tenant negotiations, and renewals
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 housing programs, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other legal requirements
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi and OneSite to track performance metrics and maintain accurate data entry records
- Manage vendor relationships for property maintenance, facilities management, and legal administrative tasks
- Resolve conflicts effectively through negotiation and conflict management strategies while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Asset Management & Portfolio Oversight
- Develop and execute business plans for a portfolio of housing assets, including affordable & market-rate
- Monitor operational performance, leasing trends, occupancy, concessions, resident retention, and expense management.
- Analyze financial statements, rent rolls, operating reports, and market data to identify opportunities and risks.
- Prepare reports for quarterly and annual asset reviews.
- Drive initiatives to enhance net operating income, resident experience, and long-term asset value.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain asset-level financial models, budgets, forecasts, and hold/sell analyses.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, renovation programs, and value-add opportunities.
- Review monthly operating results against budget and underwriting assumptions.
- Support refinancing, disposition, acquisition, and recapitalization efforts.
- Prepare investor presentations, reporting packages, and performance updates.
Property Management & Operations
- Serve as a liaison with third-party property management companies and operating partners.
- Establish performance expectations and key operating metrics.
- Collaborate with property management teams to address operational challenges and improve financial performance.
- Monitor and manage reserve balances, capital projects, and operating expenditures.
Affordable Housing Oversight
- Understand and monitor compliance requirements related to LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other affordable housing programs.
- Coordinate with compliance consultants and property management teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Evaluate affordability restrictions and their impact on long-term asset strategy.

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in real estate asset management, investments, acquisitions, development, or portfolio management.
- Experience with multifamily housing assets; exposure to affordable housing
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills.
- Ability to interpret financial statements, budgets, and operating metrics.
- Experience working with third-party property management companies and operating partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, or other affordable housing programs.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $140,000 – $165,000, based on experience
