Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with routine patient care activities including vital signs, medication administration, and catheter care
- Support residents with activities of daily living such as mobility, hygiene, and feeding assistance
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Administer medications safely following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Perform specialized tasks such as tube feeding, wound care, or assisting with memory care routines for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Observe and report changes in patient health status promptly to nursing staff or physicians
- Maintain medical records meticulously, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and confidentiality laws
- Support patients in hospice or palliative care by providing compassionate assistance aligned with their needs
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or working within memory and dementia care programs
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, catheterization, tube feeding, and medication management
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and family members
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
