JOB DESCRIPTION
The Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) mission is to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight. These positions will support the MDA in its mission by providing critical flight and ground test support. Responsibilities will include system design, modernization, maintenance, trade studies, component testing, system configuration, integration and test, deployed flight test operations, and detailed technical documentation.
We have junior-level (3-5 yrs), mid-level (6-10 yrs) and senior-level (11+ yrs) positions open in Mission Voice Communications (MVC). These positions are based out of Colorado Springs, CO and Huntsville, AL with travel opportunities both within the US and internationally.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have a B.S. Degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited institution, although number of years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Applicants must possess:
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment,
- A strong work ethic, with a willingness to adjust focus from task to task in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to perform tasks outside of normal job scope from time to time as team needs arise,
- Proven system troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve technical issues, given supervision and guidance on more complex matters,
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, and
- The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
Ideal applicants should possess:
- A security clearance at the Secret level or above,
- Experience with voice communications technologies and systems
- Understanding with network design, component configuration and maintenance
- Demonstration of strategic thinking and decision-making in planning and executing multifaceted projects and tasks,
- Experience with creating project implementation plans, test plans, and other documentation such as test reports, configuration diagrams, and incident reports, and
- Familiarity with military test range operations.
The candidate must have a valid driver's license and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to the Secret level as well as a CompTIA Security+ certification within 3 months of hire. Priority will be given to those individuals already in possession of these criteria.
The following skills are required for day-to-day operations in this position:
- Performing work in which the principles and general knowledge of mathematics and engineering disciplines are required
- Proficiency in MS Office to include MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
- Developing, planning, and coordinating system-related requirements to support operational needs and making design recommendations based on findings
- Performing systems design, development, installation, integration and test for fixed and mobile test platforms
- Maintaining a strong knowledge of missile defense flight and ground test requirements
- The ability to support extended travel schedules and willingness to work overtime during periods of mission operations
