The Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in the Master of Science in Health Science (MSHS) Program. This is an open-rank, clinical-track solicitation. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications and will be based on established university and department standards. The start date for the position is September 1, 2027. The position will be a nine-month contract, with the potential for summer teaching opportunities.
The successful candidate will complete the required training to teach online, design and implement curriculum for graduate-level health science courses, participate in university, professional, and community service, and engage in scholarship. All faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, department, and program missions, as well as a commitment to UTRGV’s strategic plan, vision, mission, values, and core priorities. Department/College Background
The College of Health Professions (CoHP) at UTRGV includes ten health professions departments and offers 11 undergraduate, 12 graduate, and 3 doctoral degree programs. The CoHP and programmatic faculty work closely with the UTRGV School of Medicine, School of Podiatric Medicine, School of Nursing, and the UT Health System to provide robust interprofessional education opportunities and training experiences for health professions students.
The Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences is housed on both the Brownsville and Edinburg UTRGV campuses. The MSHS program is an Accelerated Online Program (AOP) offered in a completely online, asynchronous format. The program serves a diverse student population and offers a unique interdisciplinary approach to health sciences graduate education.
