Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in respiratory therapy within diverse clinical settings, including critical care environments. As an RRT, you will provide essential respiratory services, support patient recovery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care in inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung function, and medical history to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapies including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medication delivery with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients in critical care units such as ICU, PICU, or trauma centers to ensure optimal oxygenation and ventilation.
- Perform airway management procedures including intubation and extubation while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care across hospital medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty clinics.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided, vital signs monitored, and patient responses in accordance with hospital policies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in physiology knowledge and medical terminology to interpret diagnostic data effectively.
- Support emergency response efforts by providing critical care expertise during trauma or acute events requiring rapid intervention.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital environments with a focus on critical care units such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Demonstrated competence in airway management techniques and ventilator management across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Prior outpatient or clinic experience is advantageous for supporting pulmonary rehabilitation or outpatient respiratory services.
- Strong background in acute care settings with familiarity in managing complex cases involving pulmonology conditions.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the respiratory system combined with the ability to perform patient assessments accurately.
- Experience administering medications via respiratory routes while understanding relevant pharmacology principles.
- Familiarity with hospital protocols for basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certifications preferred but not mandatory.
