At BrightStar Care, our Field Specialist is the person who connects what’s really happening with a client to how our entire team can best help. It’s a hybrid role: part direct hands-on care, part client observation, and part making sure every care plan actually reflects reality. You’re not just following a plan — you’re the conduit that makes the plan better.
About Us
Since opening in September 2009, Ikhaya World, Inc. DBA BrightStar Care has been delivering accredited skilled and personal care across Bergen and Hudson Counties. We’ve been at this for over 16 years, and we know the difference between someone who clocks in and someone who truly pays attention. We’re looking for the latter.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct, hands-on personal care, companionship, daily living support, and client transportation to appointments
- Observe what’s really going on with each client and communicate that back so the entire care team stays aligned
- Serve as the conduit between the field and the office — your insight drives better care planning for every client
- Travel case to case across Bergen and Hudson Counties, managing a flexible daily schedule
- Work in a variety of settings, including Hospital at Home
- Respond quickly to client needs as they arise throughout the day
- Handle project-based office support between cases — delivering supplies, PPE kits, and plans of care — so you’re always ready when the next client need comes in
- Clock in and out for every shift and maintain accurate, timely client care notes to support compliance
This is a field-first position. Office tasks are project-based and designed to keep you ready to move when a client need arises. Our clients come first, always. If you’re the kind of person who is energized by meeting and resolving client care requests, you’ll have a place with us.
Requirements
- Active, valid NJCHHA certificate — must be kept current at all times
- Current CPR Certification — must be kept current at all times. Must include hands on chest compressions.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license, insurance and reliable personal vehicle (occasional use of client vehicles)
- Minimum 4 – (7 preferred) years of trackable, verifiable home health aide experience
- Morning availability with start times of 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM
- Minimum of one weekend day per week
- Ability to adapt to a schedule that may change week to week while committing to a fixed number of hours
- Strong attention to documentation — you will clock in/out every shift and submit thorough care notes independently and guide others in the same
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting rate: $23-25.00 per hour
- Committed weekly hours — your total hours per week are committed. You go where we need you that day. Seeking 2-3 Field Specialists. Commitment opportunities range between 20-40 hours on a weekly ongoing basis, depending on mutual agreement in accepting the role.
- Paid travel time between client cases and mileage reimbursement
- When client case hours don’t fill your full commitment, the remaining time is dedicated to strategic business activities designed to position you for healthcare management
- Office support hours are compensated and tracked as part of your official MABS schedule
