Overview
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Service Providers for the APD division at Ridgeland Group Home. As a Direct Service Provider, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and promoting their overall well-being
- Implement behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Document and report any changes or concerns regarding the individual's health or behavior
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with the individuals
- Adhere to all resident rights and maintain confidentiality at all times
Required Qualifications
Must Be 18 Years of age or older
Must have 2 Years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
Valid Driver License
High School Diploma/GED
Local Background Check
Level 2 Background Check
Affidavit of Good Moral Character
HIPAA Affidavit
First Aid/CPR Certification
FDOH HIV/AIDS Certification
APD-Direct Care Core Competencies
Zero Drug Tolerance
This position has 6/10/ & 12 hour shifts available. Both evening and night shifts available
Skills:
- Knowledge of systems and procedures related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong drive and passion for helping others
- Familiarity with assisted living and home care settings
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring, if required
- Proficient in meal preparation and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
