The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of property buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents. In his role, you will work closely with the Maintenance Lead and team members to complete work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and assist in apartment turnovers. You will also ensure that maintenance requests and repairs are addressed promptly and professionally.
This is a full-time, regular position based in Columbia, SC. The Maintenance Technician will work onsite at 900 Vista Towers Dr with a work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position also requires occasional on-call availability (on rotation) for emergency maintenance services, including evenings and weekends.

Must Haves
- 1-3 years of experience in multi-family property maintenance, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and grounds maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Equal Housing Opportunity (EHO) and Fair Housing Act (FHA) laws.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and other environmental safety standards.
- Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- EPA certification
Nice-To-Haves
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, CPO) are preferred, but may be required within a certain timeframe after hire.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move about for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend or stoop, as needed, to perform repairs.
- Ability to climb, as needed, to perform repairs.
- Ability to move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to operate necessary tools/equipment to perform the essential functions of the position, such as power tools.
- Ability to work in both office and on-site property environments, including outdoor areas subject to weather conditions.
