Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining patient comfort and safety
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care
- Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize procedure efficiency
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Hands-on experience with dental X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and 3D scanners
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a healthcare environment
- Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology for accurate documentation
- Experience supporting specialized areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous
