Position Summary
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, and preparing electrical switchboards, control panels, MCC/IO cabinets, and related equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot wiring issues, and experience with cable assembly and termination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and written work instructions.
- Assemble electrical components, subassemblies, switchboards, control panels, and related equipment according to engineering specifications.
- Install and route wiring, cables, and harnesses while ensuring proper organization and cable management.
- Perform wire and cable preparation, including inspection, stripping, ferruling, labeling, and termination.
- Terminate electrical wiring according to wiring diagrams using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Assemble and install Amphenol and other industrial cable connectors, including pin insertion and connector mating for power generation and auxiliary equipment.
- Mount, install, and secure electrical components and hardware into enclosures and assemblies.
- Drill, tap, and modify panel enclosures and mounting plates to install components as required.
- Assemble and wire MCC/IO cabinets, control panels, and switchboard assemblies with a high degree of accuracy.
- Prepare completed products for final testing by assisting with electrical testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and quality verification.
- Identify and troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and work with supervisors and engineering to resolve production or quality concerns.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure compliance with company and customer standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Learn and perform specialized assembly techniques, including cable gland packing and Kopex installations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
