Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for patients of all ages, including children in school and early intervention settings, as well as adults with speech impairments or disabilities
- Develop personalized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals
- Implement therapy techniques to improve articulation, language comprehension, voice quality, fluency, and cognitive-communication skills
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and effective therapy strategies
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems to document assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and patient outcomes accurately
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions using secure platforms to reach patients remotely while maintaining high standards of care
- Educate patients and families about speech and language development, physiology of speech production, and strategies for ongoing improvement
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience working with children in pediatrics or early intervention programs; experience with school-aged populations is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology principles, anatomy, physiology related to speech production, and medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop effective treatment plans
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or speech impairments across various settings including clinics, schools, or home health environments
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management
- Telehealth experience is preferred; ability to adapt therapy techniques for virtual delivery while maintaining engagement and effectiveness
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging families in the therapeutic process
