Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, organization, and maintenance of the cabinet shop workspace, ensuring tools and materials are ready for daily use
- Support carpenters and fabricators in cutting, sanding, assembling, and finishing wood components using hand tools and power tools for woodworking
- Prepare materials by measuring, marking, and cutting according to construction plans and schematics
- Help with the installation of cabinets, doors, and trim on job sites or within the shop environment
- Maintain safety protocols by adhering to power tool safety guidelines and proper handling of woodworking machines and heavy lifting procedures
- Assist in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of cabinetry
Experience
- Prior experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, or carpentry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with woodworking machines, hand tools, and power tools for woodworking enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Experience working on construction sites or in the restoration industry demonstrates your ability to adapt to diverse environments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics or construction plans ensures precise fabrication and installation
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during demanding tasks is essential
- Previous handyman experience or involvement in remodeling projects will support your success in this position
