We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic specializing in heavy trucks and equipment to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems of heavy trucks and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to maximize vehicle lifespan.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and effectively during repair or testing procedures.
- Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to perform vehicle assembly, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance tasks that support operational readiness.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and industrial equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, shocks & struts, and vehicle systems.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools; proficiency with automotive electrical system repair is essential.
- Experience working with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other industrial machinery.
- Ability to perform fabrication tasks including welding (SMAW/MIG/TIG), soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Familiarity with service technician procedures for tire service, brake repair, alignment services, hydraulics systems repair, and HVAC maintenance.
- Adept at using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; attention to detail is critical for ensuring safety compliance.
