Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head Performance Coach to lead our team in elevating athletic excellence and optimizing individual and team performance. This role is perfect for a motivated leader with a deep understanding of sports science, biomechanics, and fitness coaching who thrives on inspiring others to reach their highest potential. As the Head Performance Coach, you will develop innovative training programs, oversee coaching staff, and ensure that all athletes or clients receive expert guidance grounded in physiology, anatomy, and body mechanics. Your energetic leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and achievement.
Duties
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive performance training programs tailored to athletes’ or clients’ goals, integrating biomechanics, physiology, and sport-specific techniques
- Supervise and mentor a team of performance coaches, ensuring high standards of coaching quality, safety protocols, and professional development
- Conduct detailed assessments of individual biomechanics, body mechanics, and physical capabilities to inform personalized training plans
- Oversee injury prevention strategies by ensuring adherence to first aid procedures, manual handling techniques, CPR/AED operation, and liability insurance requirements
- Coordinate group fitness sessions and physical education classes that promote functional movement, strength, and conditioning
- Maintain detailed records of training progress, injury reports, safety checks, and program modifications
- Foster excellent customer service by engaging with clients or athletes to motivate them and provide clear guidance on fitness sales and program offerings
Experience
- Proven experience in sports coaching or personal training within health clubs or gym environments
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, body mechanics, and sport-specific performance principles
- Demonstrated ability to design effective training programs for diverse populations including athletes and general fitness clients
- Certification in CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation; additional certifications in first aid and manual handling are highly desirable
- Experience with group fitness instruction and teaching physical education classes is preferred
- Excellent coaching skills combined with sales experience in fitness or health club settings to promote services effectively
- Prior leadership experience managing coaching teams or performance staff is advantageous
