Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care with our hospice patients on an as-needed basis. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation
- Administer medications, injections, and IV therapies following established protocols and physician orders
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies with appropriate interventions such as CPR and AED operation
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medication management, and post-discharge instructions
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, including infection control standards and nursing policy compliance
Skills
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as emergency rooms and or hospice settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency response procedures
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Kinnser (Wellsky) for documentation and patient data management
- Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification
- Experience caring for geriatric populations in home and Long Term Care Settings
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
- Excellent communication skills for parent education, patient advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration
