Nursing Training Coordinator

The Clearwater COG membership consists of nine (9) County Boards of Developmental Disabilities. Currently, Clearwater COG includes the following counties: Crawford, Erie, Huron, Lucas, Marion, Morrow, Ottawa, Richland, and Seneca.
We are seeking to fill a position that is primarily responsible for providing training to direct service providers in the areas of medication administration and CPR.
Essential Job Duties:
- Creates, instructs, and maintains medication administration certification courses in accordance with rules set forth by DODD and OAC.
- Prepares and delivers engaging training sessions using professional presentations and interactive learning activities.
- Develops and improves training materials, online courses, and virtual learning opportunities based on participant feedback.
- Coordinates training schedules, locations, registrations, and participant applications.
- Reviews applications for completeness, follows up on missing information, and maintains training records and attendance documentation.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews at locations where services are performed. Observes provider staff performing health-related activities and/or administering prescribed medications to monitor compliance.
- Acts as a resource consultant to provider and county board staff.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 2 years experience working as a registered nurse. Experience creating and conducting trainings strongly preferred.
- Current active Ohio registered nurse license. Must obtain and maintain DODD RN Trainer certification. Must obtain and maintain CPR instructor certification.
- Must maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintain a status of insurability for motor vehicle insurance in accordance with Clearwater policy.
Notes:
- $25-$27 per hour
- 40 hours per week, Overtime Eligible
- Generally, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- May work flexible hours as needed based on operational need.
- Position is home based, but regular and frequent travel is required to any of the Clearwater COG counties (Crawford, Erie, Huron, Lucas, Marion, Morrow, Ottawa, Richland, and Seneca).
