Position Summary
Our Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing drivers. The CSR is responsible for all forms of customer interaction (in-person, email, and phone), processing paperwork, maintaining schedules, and ensuring all paperwork is 100% complete and error free. The CSR provides information both internally and externally as needed.
Hours: Mid shift : 12:00pm - 8:30pm and every other Saturday
Hourly Rate: $17.50/hour
Position Responsibilities
- Perform all administrative tasks of a shipping & receiving office.
- Check in Drivers who are delivering or picking up freight.
- Answer phones and e-mails in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Verify and process shipping document accurately.
- Check out Drivers, print Bills of Lading and process system updates.
- Keep doors, dock and yard status updated and accurate.
- Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to management; assist in finding solutions.
- May take on special assignments or other roles as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years shipping/receiving or similar fast paced office experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong PC experience in MS Office (Excel, Word,Outlook) with ability to learn WMS.
- Comfortable with email communication.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve work-related issues.
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision.
- Strong clerical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to respond in a timely manner to customer inquiries.
