Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating educational technology to enhance student engagement
- Teach a diverse range of math topics including basic math, algebra, and geometry to middle and high school students
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and cultural backgrounds, ensuring inclusive classroom experiences
- Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, standardized assessments, and project work; provide constructive feedback to support growth
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing IT-integrated lessons for optimal learning outcomes
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Support students through tutoring sessions, academic advising, and mentoring to foster confidence and academic success
Skills
- Strong knowledge of math subjects including algebra and geometry
- Proficiency in educational technology tools for lesson planning and classroom management; experience implementing IT-integrated lessons is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds and adapt lessons to various learning styles
- Classroom management experience with a focus on behavior management and fostering an inclusive environment for all students
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum implementation and educational research initiatives
- Strong organizational skills in lesson planning, proofreading instructional materials, and maintaining accurate student records
- Prior high school or middle school teaching experience; private school experience is preferred but not required
