Teacher Director for Early Childhood Education
This is a hybrid role. You are expected to both teach children and help manage the educational program and staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Valid NY State Teaching Certification in Birth - 2nd Grade (Mandatory)
- Previous experience as a Lead Teacher (At least 3 years consecutively)
- 3-5 years of Curriculum and Program Management
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice for infants, toddlers and preschoolers
- Applicable knowledge and understanding of NAEYC standards
- Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing regulations.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers.
- Experience hiring, training, and supporting staff.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build a positive team culture.
Skills & Knowledge
- Helping manage staff schedules, classroom operations, and educational quality.
- Maintaining documentation, assessments, and compliance records.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood
- Promote a professional environment between parents, teachers and staff.
- Ability to lead staff in development and implementation of education curriculum
- Ability to facilitate the coordination of multiple tasks and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of DOH regulations and codes, and ability to handle site inspections
- Review weekly lesson plans, daily reports and address parent concerns and questions
- Have knowledge of proper nutrition requirements for infants and children.
- Participate in hiring educational staff, enrichment activities and specialty teachers.
- Coordinate parent/teacher conferences to share development milestones of enrolled children
- Management of the curriculum, parent communications and social media content
- Participate in facility tours and family interviews as required by Program Director.
- Schedule parent/teacher conference meetings and staff meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
